Why overtraining and adding extra workouts can actually hinder progress 

When it comes to building strength, the prevailing thought is that "more is better." Many people feel that if they can add more workouts or stay active every day, they will see results faster. 

But in a strength-focused program, this approach can actually work against us. 

Unlike other forms of exercise, strength training depends on the right balance of intensity and recovery. When we rest, our muscles have time to repair and rebuild, which is when real gains are made.
