Build Bone Density
There’s a misnomer that medication alone can re-establish your bone density.
The truth is, the bone can only grow when stress is placed on it.
There is a difference between good stress and bad stress on the bone.
Good stress puts the correct amount of resistance against an already fragile bone.
Bad stress puts to much or not enough force on a fragile bone leading to injury or inefficacy.
Our job is to stress the bone the correct and safe way.
In fact, our method, Clinical Strength Training®, is an evolution of the original SuperSlow method founded by Ken Hutchins and his team who were conducting a study at the University of Florida in 1982.
They wanted to see how they could use Nautilus resistance machines to help women reverse severe osteoporosis.
What they discovered was that it wasn’t enough to have safe machines. Women needed the correct amount of resistance performed in the correct amount of time. A specific protocol emerged. That, combined with medical-grade equipment, ended up being the best combination for building bone density.
That’s not to say the medication doesn’t work. Medication for bone density is most effective when used in conjunction with Clinical Strength Training®. Since 2005, we have helped many women to actually reverse the progression of Osteoporosis.
Some women have moved from Osteoporosis to Osteopenia. Some have moved out of Osteopenia and back to bone health.
Regardless of your starting point, you CAN build bone density, no matter your age or condition.
Keep in mind that it took a lifetime for your bones to wear down to the point of Osteoporosis. Therefore, building them up takes time.
In most cases, one year of Clinical Strength Training® is the minimum to see tangible bone growth results. However, to prevent the situation from recurring, you should think of strength training as a lifelong endeavor as there will never be a time that having weak bones or muscles will be favorable.
