Q: What is a session like?
A: Each week you will come five minutes before your allotted time. Then a trainer will check-in with you and you will perform 5-8 machines for 20-30 minutes under the constant watch and guidance of your trainer. All of your settings, progress, and increases will be taken care of by your trainer.
Q: How does membership work?
A: Membership is paid on a monthly basis. There is no minimum time commitment -- membership is on a month-to-month basis. Payment each month reserves a day/time slot that is your spot you can count on each week.
Q: Does it cost anything to sign up?
A: Yes, as of 2023 there is a registration fee. We spend take care to thoughtfully review each new member's intake information, setting up a file, and a unique webpage for progress tracking for all of our members.
Q: What do I do if I'm on the waitlist?
A: As space becomes available, we will reach out to you with a personalized email inviting you to get started.
Q: How long does it take to get off the waitlist?
A: Wait times vary depending on your own preferred day/time for work outs but it can take as long as 1-3 months.
Q: What are your trainers like?
A: We work hard to ensure that our trainers are capable of giving quality, informed, safe sessions. We carefully onboard our trainers with a combination of hands-on training, education, and exercise philosophy. We spend about 6 weeks onboarding each trainer, about 3 times longer than average exercise facilities.
Q: How long until I see results?
A: It depends on the type of results you are looking for. How long did it take you to get to the state you are in now? We are reverse engineering that issue to improve and turn it around. To build bone density, your body will immediately get to work to prioritize muscle and bone building. However, to see tangible results on a scan could take 1-2 years. For weight loss, it primarily depends on how serious you are will to take your nutrition and make quality changes. To feel the difference of having more strength and energy for daily tasks could occur as soon as 6 weeks.
Q: How long do I need to be in this program?
A: In the words of SuperSlow® founder, Ken Hutchins: "Exercise is not a luxury. It is a basic requirement for a normal, healthy life. You do not dress, brush your teeth, carry out the trash, clean the toilet, bathe, or mow the year for fun. Although you may certainly derive some satisfaction from these activities, you do them because they are required for life." Will there ever be a time when you don't need strength? It would be akin to saying that you're done brushing teeth since you've done it for most of your life. Keeping your strength levels up is a lifelong endeavor.
Q: Can I train if I've had a joint replacement?
A: If you are cleared for training by your doctor or surgeon then you should be able to train with us. For people with joint replacements, it is especially important to develop the muscle surrounding the joint for extra support. Those with hip replacements will have a different walking gait due to the prosthetic joint being slightly longer than a natural joint. Having strength can help relieve strain that can occur.
Q: Can I train with medical conditions?
A: We have worked with many medical conditions. If your condition is ongoing, you will need a doctor's clearance. The only condition we cannot work with is if you have or have had an aneurysm.
Q: Why is membership more expensive than other places that give you more time?
A: Clinical Strength Training® is a specialized form of strength training performed on medical-grade equipment. Medical-grade equipment is specially engineered to be effective for both fitness and rehabilitative purposes. To provide safe, effective, high-quality sessions to clients in just 30-minutes, trainers must be extensively trained. We strive for excellence and integrity in all areas of our business and take exercise as seriously as any other aspect of health. Like Picasso told the woman to whom he charged $10,000 for a 30-second drawing: "it has taken me 30 years to be able to draw that in 30-seconds." In our business, it has taken us 20 years to be able to provide the quality of strength sessions we do in less than 30 minutes.
